Jinan Mashan Town Digital twin Project

Overview

This project focuses on comprehensive protection and development for Mashan Town. The town covers 88 square kilometers and has over 40,000 residents in 43 villages. In 2017, Mashan was selected as a national pilot town for new urbanization, and in 2019, the town launched a comprehensive protection and relocation project with a total investment of 16 billion yuan. The aim is to create a CIM basic information platform that aggregates government management data and project application data from the planning and construction management stages of Mashan Town to serve as a new type of infrastructure for urban operation, governance, and livelihood empowerment.

Pain Points and Difficulties

(I) Research Stage

Project research is difficult due to remote locations and diverse terrain. A large amount of project photos and data are difficult to efficiently store and circulate, making it hard to have an overall grasp and understanding of the project status.

(II) Investment Balance of Projects

Investment balance is one of the key tasks for all land development projects. At the beginning of the establishment of the platform development unit in Mashan, the team of 11 people needed to be responsible for all investment analysis, calculation, timing control, and debt and fund analysis, which posed major difficulties.

(III) Demolition and Relocation Management

Demolition work is often the biggest difficulty in regional development projects. Mashan Town involves the demolition and relocation work of more than 40,000 villagers and 9,000 households, with a huge management difficulty, especially for the serious problem of illegal construction.

(IV) Construction Management

Regional development investment and construction projects have many types, long engineering cycles, and many participating parties. This results in problems such as low accuracy and timeliness of progress and investment data, making it difficult to effectively supervise the project and find key problems that affect project progress.

(V) Urban Operation

The overall resettlement work of more than 40,000 villagers and the management and governance work of 43 villages after the merger; the development of industries such as tourism, commerce, and agriculture, etc. pose great challenges for the industrial development and investment promotion work in Mashan Town.

Top-level Design

Create a CIM basic information platform to serve as a new type of infrastructure for urban operation, governance, and livelihood empowerment.

(I) Research Stage Assistance Module

This module is mainly designed to use real digital model technology combined with drone point cloud scanning to build a project status model. It can generate a high-precision three-dimensional real vector model with a centimeter-level precision by attaching point cloud data to GPS and elevation coordinate information, providing intuitive, real, and accurate data for location resource investigation.

(II) Land Investment Analysis Module

The land investment analysis module design includes two parts. The first part is static investment analysis. Firstly, in the land resource analysis module, the land situation in the project area is analyzed by integrating urban planning data, land use planning data, and land use current situation data to simulate and evaluate the land that can be directly stored. Secondly, in the project cost analysis module, based on the evaluation of the area of the demolished houses from the previous status data, the cost of corresponding land basic infrastructure construction is recorded to quickly simulate and evaluate the input cost estimation of the project and land parcels.

Finally, in the project revenue analysis module, by analyzing surrounding land prices and land appreciation potential evaluation data, the expected revenue of the project land parcel is calculated and used for project investment balance analysis to provide construction and operation cost control for the project.
